The Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages, enhances and promotes tourism-related business and special events in the Nacogdoches area.

The CVB is funded through Hotel Occupancy Tax (as opposed to general tax revenue). This tax is collected on each hotel, motel or bed & breakfast room sold within the city. The local hotel tax rate is 13% (6% state and 7% local). Hotel Occupancy Tax funds are restricted in use.
Approved Uses for Hotel/Motel Occupancy Tax
• Funding the operation of convention and visitors bureaus
• Paying for tourism-related advertising and promotion of the city
• Funding historical restoration or preservation programs
