This year we are excited to have our 8th Annual Draggin’ and Pullin’ in the Pines Charity Truck Show at Pine Valley Raceway on October 21st and 22nd.This is a family-friendly event and we want to invite everyone to come out even if you aren’t registering a truck. Bring the kids out to enjoy the tractor pulls, drag racing, light show, and so much more!
This year to kick off the first night of Draggin’ and Pullin’ in the Pines we will have Stoney LaRue performing at 10 pm!
We live in a community where we come together to support those in need. That’s exactly what the owner of East Texas Truck Center, Josh Burch, and the owner of Kelly’s Truck Parts, Ronnie Kelly, had in mind when they originally held the 1st Truckers Showdown in the parking lot of East Texas Truck Center in Nacogdoches. This event originated as a customer appreciation event and charity fundraiser for the veterans of our community. With over 50 Trucks registered we outgrew the parking lot of East Texas Truck Center and moved this event to Pine Valley Raceway and renamed Truckers Showdown to Draggin’ and Pullin’ in the Pines. This is charity a Charity Truck Show. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to help Mission 22 and the Wyakin Warrior Foundation help spread awareness of veteran suicide and wounded or disabled veterans’ civilian futures.
Why are these two foundations so important you may ask? Every day 22 veterans take their lives. That’s 22 suicides a day. That’s a suicide every 65 minutes. As shocking as that is, the real number may actually be higher now. Mission 22 raises awareness of veteran suicide. The Wyakin Foundation serves as a conduit, connecting veterans to their successful civilian futures through education, development, and guidance. The mission for these two non-profit organizations begins when the veteran’s tour is over. It takes a community to HELP heal a veteran.
Last year, Draggin’ and Pullin’ and Pines, raised and donated over $50,000 to these two foundations to help them spread awareness to veterans in need! This event has grown significantly in 8 years. We are blessed to do what we do, however, none of this is possible without the support of our community. We have over 10,000 people attend the two-day Charity Truck show and over 100 Working Class and Show Class Trucks registered annually.
This show is all about helping the veterans in our community while providing a great time, a safe environment, and a family-friendly atmosphere for Truck and Car enthusiasts from all over the country. Please follow Draggin’ and Pullin’ in the Pines on Facebook for more updates. We hope to see you guys there!
