Hosted by the Texas AgriForestry Small Farmers and Ranchers
Texas AgriForestry Small Farmers and Ranchers (TASFR), a non-profit community-based organization will host an Agriculture/Forestry Summit Thursday and Friday, June 7-8, in Texas' oldest town at the Nacogdoches County Exposition and Civic Center.
The title of the summit is "Agriculture/Forestry Summit, Remembering our past, Sustaining the present and Planning for a sustainable future."
According to TASFR Chairman Roy Mills, the summit will allow small farmers and ranchers to hear from USDA agriculture and forestry agencies regarding programs that can assist with making their farming operations better. It also will address stewardship issues along with other barriers facing small farmers and ranchers, especially Socially Disadvantaged (SD) Landowners in rural communities where information is critical.
