The conducting talents of Oliver Yan, graduate student in the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University, will be spotlighted when the Symphony Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
Yan, who is from Hong Kong, is earning a master’s degree in conducting from SFA. The program will include three major works: “Der Freischutz” Overture by Carl Maria von Weber; “Les Preludes” by Franz Liszt; and L’Arlesienne Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet.
