Little Princess Tea Party

Date: Apr 13, 2024

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Princesses from across East Texas are invited to don their best ball gown and sip tea with friends during the SFA Gardens' Little Princess Tea Party slated for April 13 in the Stephen F. Austin State University Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden.

Kindness is the theme for this year’s event, and two sessions will be offered — the first at 10 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m.

"The azalea garden creates a magical setting for young princesses and fairies to celebrate the natural beauty of East Texas,” said Kay Jenkins, SFA Gardens educational programs coordinator.

Fun activities, including singing, story time and more, will be led by SFA Gardens environmental education fairies. Teatime snacks and drinks will be provided. A special feature for this year’s party is that guests will be able to interact with live butterflies and discover the role butterflies and other insects play in helping plants make seeds, fruits and vegetables.

The event is recommended for children 3 to 10 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased online beginning March 1 from the SFA Gardens webpage.

Fifty tickets are available for each of the two tea party sessions. Tickets are $50 per person and typically sell out. Proceeds from the event help support environmental education programs at SFA Gardens.
